The Medix Diagnostics & Prevention Service represents a novel approach, which provides a unique opportunity for prevention and early diagnosis, long before a disease actually appears, this service provides you with reassurance and allows you to proactively manage your health and well-being.
Different genetic and environmental factors account for one’s health risks. Each person is unique and requires different screening, prevention & medical treatment protocols - one solution does not fit all! Major advances in technology and medicine enable detecting and recording differences between individual patients and understanding their personal risk profile, predisposition to certain diseases, and in turn, provide tools for prevention and optimisation of medication and treatment.
Medix’ long standing experience in managing the care of patients from different countries, backgrounds and healthcare systems helped us recognise the need for a holistic and tailored approach and provide us the ability to leverage those advances to deliver personalised medical care.
The service includes four components, all personalised for your individual needs:
- A complete web-based Health Risk Assessment questionnaire
- Dedicated Genetic Testing (easy to use, non-invasive genetic test)
- Novel Biomarker Testing and personalised screening tests (blood tests)
- A personalised Prevention Plan and an annual follow-up led by your dedicated Prevention Doctor
All of which are provided by a multidisciplinary team of global medical experts, including:
- Doctors from all relevant specialties including prevention specialists
- Genetic Counselors
- Nurses
- Dietitians
With this service you will receive the knowledge and tools to identify your personal risks and prevent the development of four conditions that have a major impact on our lives:

Genetic Profiling is based on the analysis of DNA from samples of body tissues or fluids. Based on this analysis genetic dispositions for specific diseases can be identified and a genetic profile established. Genetic Profiling makes Risk Profiling highly personal and supremely accurate, offering access to the most advanced prevention plans.
Genetic testing and medical screening are scientifically proven. Research indicated that 10% of all cancers incidences are due to hereditary genetic mutations. For example, women with the BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutation have a 5-fold higher risk of developing breast cancer in comparison to the general population.
A biomarker (biologic marker) is a measurable indicator of a specific biological state, particularly one relevant to the risk for, the presence of, or the stage of a disease. Biomarkers can be used clinically to screen for, diagnose, or monitor the activity of diseases and to guide molecularly targeted therapy or assess therapeutic response. Measurement of Biomarkers is based on laboratory testing of blood, brine or tissue samples.
Several novel biomarkers have emerged in recent years as predictors of severe, and otherwise difficult to detect, cardiovascular (Heart and Blood Vessels) diseases. One such advancement is the development of tests for high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP). Extensive study has demonstrated that this marker predicts long-term cardiovascular risk in individuals with no traditional evidence of cardiovascular disease. Patients with elevated hs-CRP levels without elevated cholesterol appear to derive significant preventive benefit from statin therapy.
Understanding your risk profile and having a dedicated medical team to guide you, will provide you with the tools you need to implement the necessary lifestyle changes and follow-up measures. By testing your genetic background and biomarkers, we can help you plan and avoid these medical conditions
