Consultation and guidance given not in the framework of service does not serve as a replacement for a physician’s examination or consultation, and is not considered a “medical diagnosis” or “medical opinion". In all cases of urgency, distress or emergency (physical and/or mental), seek medical care with a family doctor, closest emergency room, and/or ambulatory service.

What is Personal Case Management?

What is Personal Case Management?

Medical Case Management includes: revision of the diagnosis, referral for additional diagnostic tests, access to the world's leading specialists, recommendation for treatment, and supervision of its implementation, while providing on-going medical support for a minimal period of three months

Patients diagnosed with serious medical conditions are showered with information, treatment suggestions, contradicting opinions and differing approaches. Medix' professional team will help you navigate the maze of questions, obstacles and doubts.

Our highly qualified medical professionals, committed only to your best interests, will take an objective and in-depth look at your medical case, and will help ensure that you are choosing and implementing the best possible medical care.

Medix clients have access to a dedicated, multidisciplinary medical team, led by leading specialist consultants. These doctors are senior physicians who were handpicked based on their professionalism and bedside manner, in addition to being leading specialists in their respective fields.

Our team also includes nurses, coordinators and a dedicated customer service center available 24\7. Our clients receive the benefit of Medix’ global database of the world's leading specialists and medical centres of excellence.

How is Medical Case Management different from a second opinion service?

Advice given within the framework of a second opinion service is a one-time event, relating to a specific point in time. After receiving the opinion, any decisions pertaining to the desired course of treatment are left in the hands of the patient. Medix Medical Case Management is an ongoing service which provides real time and on-going assessment and feedback regarding the patient’s current condition and decision-making process, alongside supervision and assistance from the diagnosis through to recovery.

What does the service include?

After the initial contact, and signing of Medix Consent Form & Medical Confidentiality Waiver, the patient will be assigned a dedicated personal medical team comprised of a Senior Specialist Case Manager and a Medical Coordinator Nurse.

The team will assist in retrieving all of the relevant medical information, such as laboratory results, imaging, consultation reports and summaries. All this information will be revised, and if needed, the patient could be referred to undergo further testing.

The case would then be discussed by a number of leading specialists in the relevant medical fields. After a multidisciplinary discussion a recommended plan as to the best course of treatment would be issued.

At this point, it is the Medical Case Manager’s responsibility to convey all the information regarding the diagnosis, possible treatment alternatives and the recommendations in an understandable yet concise way. After discussing the treatment plan and making the required decisions together with the patient, he will be referred to a leading specialist for implementation of the chosen treatment.
